What Are Spring Hinges?

A spring hinge has a built-in spring mechanism (usually inside the hinge knuckle) that forces the door closed once it's opened. Unlike separate door closers (Perko, overhead, floor springs), the spring hinge is integral to the hinge itself, minimising extra hardware. Some spring hinges are single action (they swing one way, then self-close), others are double action, meaning they swing both ways (useful in locations like kitchens, cafes, or through-ways)
